Solu is an architecture studio founded by two talented friends, Amanda Machado and Luana Santana, with a passion for resourceful and accessible design solutions. The studio's manifesto revolves around the belief that architecture can positively impact lives by providing practical, innovative, and cost-effective solutions that enhance the quality of life for all. The core idea of "Sol e Lua," or Sun and Moon in Portuguese, symbolizes the intersection and contrast in architecture, reflecting the combination of modernity and accessibility in their designs.
For Solu's brand identity, I created a logo that was a modified version of the Embryo font. The logo gives a sense of mechanical and crafting tools, such as a hammer, screwdriver, and saw, representing Solu's hands-on approach to architecture. The logo boasts a bold and informal vibe, perfectly aligning with the brand's concept of being accessible yet modern. The color palette consists of four main colors, thoughtfully playing with the So+Lu contrast to emphasize key elements while keeping the rest in Beige and faded black.
As a key visual element, I developed a line visual system that resembled stacked wooden strips. This architectural and slightly brutalist touch was integrated into the studio's materials, including the website and social media graphics. The line visual system helps maintain a consistent and recognizable look across various platforms, reinforcing Solu's brand identity and its commitment to accessible yet modern design.
A series of posts and stories were created as templates, empowering the client to follow the digital brand identity consistently. By maintaining a cohesive and engaging presence on social media, Solu effectively communicates its unique vision to a wider audience and establishes a strong digital presence.
